I have a new favorite cheese called Gottardo. We saw it on sale the other week at our grocery store and were hesitant at first because of the dark rind, thinking it was one of the smelly, stronger cheeses but after a taste I was hooked. It’s very mild and creamy and tastes great on nut bread which I am having right now. Mmmoooo.
You can read the rest of my entry if you want but it’s boring. I’m in a bizarre, talky place this week and can’t help myself. So odd.
It’s been a busy week and I haven’t been able to knit anything but a few rows on my ovary sweater, yet my passion for knitting is no way dimmed. We took a drive yesterday to see a sample of wood for our new garden deck. It’s coming along slowly, perhaps because I feed them a nice lunch every day. My favorite meal this week was the pizza. I bought refrigerated dough and added olive oil with mozarella, basil, red and yellow peppers, assorted olives and shallots, served with a side salad. Simple and divine.
I need my husband around when I photograph people here in Switzerland so that he can talk to them and get them to open up — I’m a bit challenged by the language, but it always works out in the end. Last time I was photographing someone I know and could do it on my own, but I noticed he was quiet when I was behind the camera. Only when I stuck my head out to the side did he liven up so in the photo I edited his eyes to look forward. I love Photoshop.
I could go on and on. What a bizarre week, I feel like I have to stop myself from writing too much. I’ve been feeling a bit alien this week, perhaps waking up from a long winter’s nap of the soul. I can’t provide more of an explanation than that though. I suppose I could attribute it to my reduction in sugar and the yoga — trying out healthier habits, not bowing to the sticky, sweet gods for a turn. I have given myself an exception day on the weekends but end up feeling shaky and sick. Perhaps I’ll cut that out next.
What else. Oh, my pink Walking Carpet petpet, Maurice, was in the top ten at Neopets. My pets live at the hotel so I don’t have to feed or play with them. I’m in it for Word Poker and Destruct-o-Match. I do love a trophy, I do.
